ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) special court has rejected the bail of the Deputy State Tax Officer (DTSO) in the GST fraud case. The officer was arrested for a GST fraud of Rs. 2.8 lakhs

The Deputy Tax Officer, State Tax, Madhapur-II Circle, along with another officer, illegally shifted the principal place of business of M/s Grow More Electric Vehicles without taking permission from their higher office. As a result of the transfer, a GST refund of ₹2.87 lakh was approved without verification of documents. This caused loss of revenue.

Hyderabad’s Central Crime Station (CCS) registered seven cases of GST fraud against the officer, leading to his arrest on May 5.

One official said:Ramana colluded with another officer and shifted the principal place of business of M/s Grow More Electric Vehicles from Madhapur-II Circle to Nalgonda District without informing his superior. By shifting the place of business and forcing his partner to upload the documents, he sanctioned an amount of Rs 2.86 lakh”, The Hindu reported.

In a bid to release him, the Deputy State Tax Officer approached the special ACB court for bail. However, the court rejected the bail plea citing the seriousness of the charges and the ongoing investigation.
