Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Saturday emphasized the important role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India’s economy, highlighting their contribution to GDP, manufacturing and exports. He expressed these views on the occasion of his visit to Choir Board Head Office.

Manjhi called for greater awareness of the coir sector and MSME schemes, urging to expand the sector’s presence beyond the southern regions to the northern and northeastern parts of the country. He also emphasized the importance of PM Vishwakarma Yojana in promoting innovation within the sector.

The minister visited the coir manufacturing unit, interacted with artisans, and assured cooperation to industry representatives to address export challenges, capital requirements and quality improvement. He reiterated the government’s commitment to harness the potential of the sector for job creation and economic growth.
