Australia’s Jack Fraser-McGurk scored a heroic half-century on his IPL debut as spinner Kuldeep Yadav stunned with the ball as Delhi Capitals beat Lucknow Supergiants by six wickets at the Ekna Cricket Stadium on Friday. It was Ayush Baduni’s unbeaten 55 off 35 balls that lifted LSG to 167 for 7 as Kuldeep (3 for 20) took three wickets. Fraser McGurk (55 off 35 balls) and skipper Rishabh Pant (41) put on a 77-run partnership to take the match away from the hosts and ensure DC’s second win of the season.

The win helped DC gain a spot and move up to ninth position in the points table. Thus, Royal Challengers Bengaluru slipped to the bottom spot.

Meanwhile, the loss to LSG meant they slipped to fourth and Chennai Super Kings dropped to third.

Kuldeep Yadav, who bagged the player of the match award against LSG on Friday, said, “It was tough when I wasn’t fit, injured in the first game and seeing the team struggling in the middle overs. It was tough. Credit goes to Patrick for keeping up. My fitness and getting me up early were the three important wickets, I played well against Puran for the first and second wickets. I was very clear about my plans, very clear and confident for me whenever DRS call is 50/50, but when it is more 60/40 then I am one As a bowler I hear Rishabh, you obviously want to take DRS wherever possible.”
