Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan produced fireworks with the bat after Jasprit Bumrah’s magical five-wicket haul as Mumbai Indians beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets for their second win of IPL 2024 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. After the win, MI gained a spot in the points table to seventh place. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s progress took a toll on Punjab Kings as they lost a position to eighth. Kishan scored 69 off just 34 balls (7x4s, 5x6s) and Surya Kumar hit 52 off 19 balls with four sixes and five fours as Mumbai Indians chased down RCB’s 197-run target in just 15.3 overs. did it. RCB rattled on but a challenging 196/8 courtesy of captain Faf du Plessis (61), Rajat Patidar (50) and Dinesh Karthik’s 53 not out off 23 balls proved to be a long way off.
Kishan set the tone for an aggressive reply on a quiet deck, smashing Mohammad Siraj for three sixes and a four to collect 23 runs in the Indian fast bowler’s second over.
The onslaught continued when RCB introduced Glenn Maxwell in the sixth over, with the MI opener hitting two fours and a six to reach his first fifty of the season off just 23 balls.
Kishan once again made an important stand for Mumbai in the company of Rohit Sharma, the pair putting on 101 runs off 53 balls for the first wicket.

Surya Kumar, who was dropped by Glenn Maxwell at backward point on 15, went behind Akash Deep in the 11th over and scored 24 with three sixes and a four.
Playing only his second game back from injury, Suriya Kumar was aided by RCB’s valiant bowlers who produced enough balls to knock himself into form and the world No. 1 T20 batsman in 17 balls. Made fifty.

Mixing his sharp yorkers well with the quick bouncers, Bumrah took away the in-form Kohli (3) early on to extend his usual run at this point in the IPL.
Du Plessis and Patidar put on an 82-run third-wicket partnership to put an end to their poor run with their own half-centuries, but Bumrah, who bowled three overs after the halfway mark, looked set for a great spell. RCB’s resistance has been broken.
Karthik, who favored Akash Madhwal (1/57) for 38 runs in his two overs, finished with five fours and four sixes.
