Pakistan cricket team will face Canada in a must-win T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday. After losing their first two matches of the campaign – to the United States of America and USA respectively – Pakistan now face Canada, a team that has won one of their first two matches so far. Ranked fourth in the 5-team Group A, Pakistan cannot afford to make a single mistake. But what if their match against Canada is rained out?
Although the India vs Pakistan match was initially stopped due to rain, the match still managed to finish the game at 20 overs per side. There is about a 25 percent chance of rain in New York on June 12. In the morning, the chances remain at only 11 percent. But, things can change quickly.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 Qualification Scenario:
Babar Azam’s side should beat Canada and Ireland by big margins to improve their net run rate which currently stands at -0.150. On the other hand, USA has a beautiful NRR of +0.626 while India’s NRR stands at +1.455.
Pakistan will qualify if India win their next two matches against USA and Canada and USA lose their remaining matches. Even if the US loses against India, they can qualify for the Super 8 with a win against Ireland. Pakistan does not have all this at present.
What if Pakistan vs Canada T20 World Cup Group 1 match gets rained out?
If rain ends the entire competition, the points will be shared for the match between Pakistan and Canada, with both teams getting one point each. In that case, it would be impossible for Babar’s men to knock down America’s 4-point tally. Hence, a washout match would result in Pakistan’s exit from the Super 8 race.
It should also be noted that T20 World Cup 2024 has no reserve day for any of the group stage matches.
