Virat Kohli was stunned by on-field umpire Nitin Menon’s decision during the IPL 2024 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians on Thursday. During the final over of the RCB innings, the umpire denied a waist-high nine to Dinesh Karthik when the batsman went to review a delivery by Akash Madhwal. Karthik connected with a full-toss delivery around his waist and after the shot was completed, the veteran wicket-keeper batsman went for a quick review after the no-ball was signaled. Replays showed that the ball was just above the waist and like many social media users, Kohli was completely confused as to why the no-ball was not awarded. (IPL Points Table)

Mumbai Indians put on a sensational batting display to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets. Chasing a target of 197, Ishan Kishan (69) and Rohit Sharma (38) provided the perfect foundation before Surya Kumar Yadav (52) and Hardik Pandya (21*) finished the game in style.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah took his second five-wicket haul in the IPL but was unable to restrict RCB to a total of 196 for the loss of eight wickets. Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar scored impressive half-centuries before Dinesh Karthik made a late flourish with 53 off 23 balls.
