Will you focus more on indie films?
Independent films are a bit niche, but they are incredible with amazing stories, rich in content, powerful and hard-hitting, special effects are spectacular. Some of them go out winning awards. We also need to contend with good non-traditional film narratives.
People seem to love all kinds of movies. Bollywood frees from violence. Animals To have fun Rocky and Rani and also Gadar 2 And Pathan Did well last year. What does your roadmap look like?
We hit 15 crore admissions in FY 2023. If a film does well in any genre, with good script, acting and direction, people will come for it. This is the beauty of cinema; Trends in the entertainment world are hard to predict. Any genre will click.
Do good movies need marketing?
You need trailers, promotions and star visits. In our retail interest it is important to provide an immersive experience to the audience. We have to create a good atmosphere and keep developing our screen formats and hope for audience acceptance.
How do you choose your movies?
A lot of feedback comes from social media and directly from people asking what they want. For example, our audience asked for anime movies. Last year, the Japanese anime film Suzum 10 crore earned. Korean-English bilingual film Past lives Had a great run and was nominated for an Oscar. We have to take small risks for our audience.
What is the extension of the pipeline?
We will launch 90 more screens across the country and especially in Tier II and III cities like Rourkela, Michalipatnam, Coimbatore, Kanpur. We have introduced a new ticket price called Passport which buys four movies a month for Rs 349.
