Ahead of the November 5 US presidential election, an Indian diaspora group has launched a campaign to increase policy impact and voter turnout among Indian-American voters.

Launched by non-profit organization Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), the “Indo-American Votes Matter” campaign highlights the important role that communities can play in shaping the nation’s future, released on Tuesday. said in a statement.

“As a vibrant and growing immigrant minority, Indo-Americans — who number about 4.5 million across the U.S. — have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the 2024 elections. Florida, Georgia, Arizona Concentrated in key states like Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, the Indo-American vote could be decisive in determining the outcome of key races,” FIIDS said.

A comprehensive survey of Indian-Americans would gather their views on US domestic and global policy issues that are important to them, he said.

“With a large population in key presidential election states, Indian-Americans have a unique opportunity to make an impact,” said Khandrao Kand, head of policy and strategy at FIIDS.

“Therefore, their policy issues and priorities should be given serious consideration by both the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) election,” Candt said.
