Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the Quad Summit emphasizes several important aspects, including bilateral, multilateral and multilateral, and asserted that the agenda of the summit including the development of the Indo-Pacific region, and implementing sustainable Developmental goals.
Mr Masri’s comments came during a briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US for the upcoming Quad Summit.
Elaborating on the events taking place in the US during PM Modi’s visit, Mr Masri said, “Prime Minister Modi will visit the US from September 21 to 23. This visit combines many important aspects. There are very important bilateral aspects to this, and there will be discussions at the Prime Minister’s level with a number of foreign partners, and engagement with business and industry leaders, among others.”
He added, “The prime minister’s first talk will be in Wilmington, Delaware, the hometown of President Joe Biden. It’s also the site of the sixth Quad Summit…”
Mr. Masri further informed that from Wilmington the Prime Minister will go to New York to attend future summits. “He (PM Modi) will also have several engagements in these three days. Quad summit on September 21; bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Quad summit, a special event on the sidelines of the Quad summit,” he said. On September 22, he will interact with the Indian community, which the community is organizing in Long Island, New York.
Speaking on the objective of the Cancer Moonshot initiative, Mr. Masri said, “Through the Cancer Moonshot initiative, Quad aims to prevent, detect, treat and reduce the impact of cancer on patients and their families. By implementing innovative strategies for, and starting with, we intend to contribute to reducing the burden of cervical cancer in the Indo-Pacific region.”
The foreign secretary also said that PM Modi will interact with several tech CEOs during his three-day visit. “There will be a technology roundtable with a number of tech CEOs where we will have the opportunity to discuss the tech investment landscape and the opportunities available here,” Mr Masri said. “There will be several other meetings with stakeholders and bilateral meetings with heads of state,” he added.
“On September 23, the Prime Minister will address the Future Summit at the United Nations General Assembly. Some more bilateral meetings are being scheduled that day,” Mr. Masri said.
Explaining the Quad’s agenda, Mr. Masri said the Quad’s constructive agenda is “building on the development of the Indo-Pacific, implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, delivery of public goods, and peace, prosperity and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.” Continue to focus.”
