Islamabad:
ARY News reported that the blast rocked the outer wall of a police station in the I-9 area of Islamabad, Pakistan.
According to officials, no one was injured in the attack as the intensity of the blast was limited.
A duty officer heard the explosions and ignored the sound of tires exploding. However, it has come to light that the explosion took place in the premises of the police station.
The police have collected metal fragments found near the wall. ARY News reported that further investigation is underway.
In 2022, a similar incident rocked a police station in Islamabad’s I-10 area in a suicide attack, killing one person and injuring several others.
ARY News reported that on 25 December 2024, a police officer was killed in a terrorist attack in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
According to ARY News, an official said that the terrorists opened fire in Ahmedzai sub-division Wazir police station, killing Head Constable Wazirzada.
A police official told ARY News that the police head constable has been shifted to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
Earlier, a policeman was killed and a polio worker was injured in an attack by unknown assailants in Kirk area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Banda Dawood Shah area of Kirk, policemen were guarding the anti-polio campaign team.
Law enforcement officials reported that additional police personnel were dispatched to the scene after the assailants escaped.
ARY News reported on Monday that on December 2, 2024, at least three children lost their lives after a motor shell exploded in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident took place in Sanganga Jani Khel area of Bannu where madrasa students were playing with shells.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police officials said that the bullet exploded in their hands, killing three people on the spot.
On November 30, 2024, at least three children were killed and five others injured when a live mortar shell exploded in Lower Karam Tehsil of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Five other children were seriously injured in the incident in a village of Lower Karam Tehsil.
All the children, under the age of 11, were playing when they spotted a live mortar shell on a mountain, police said. The children started pelting stones at the shell which exploded killing three of them on the spot.
