The context of the conversation is not clear. But, Freeman suggested that the former president and president-elect were discussing international agreements at Jimmy Carter’s funeral.
Trump leaned toward Obama and said, “I’m out of it. These are the circumstances. Can you imagine that?”
Freeman says the two leaders are talking about the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which Obama signed and then Trump withdrew from in 2018.
The funeral brought a brief moment of unity to a divided America as five presidents – George Bush, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton and Donald Trump – came together to pay their respects to President Carter.
