Kathmandu:
India on Monday released helpline numbers for its nationals stranded by floods and landslides in Nepal over the past few days.
The advisory follows heavy flooding and landslides caused by record rainfall over the weekend, which caused widespread damage across Nepal.
In a post on social media platform X, the Indian Embassy in Nepal expressed concern over the current situation, saying, “Record rains over the weekend have caused widespread damage due to floods and landslides. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.”

The embassy acknowledged that it has received reports of Indian nationals stranded due to the natural calamity and is coordinating with the Nepali authorities to ensure their safe evacuation and return.
“The embassy is in contact with some of these groups and is making arrangements for their safe return,” the advisory said.
To assist stranded citizens, the embassy has issued three helpline numbers for those in need of assistance.
Meanwhile, the death toll from devastating floods and landslides in Nepal reached nearly 200 as of Monday afternoon, with 30 people missing and 194 others injured, according to Nepal’s home ministry.
Rescue operations have rescued more than 4,500 people, with security forces continuing to clear blocked highways and reach affected areas.
Official figures also show that 1,327 houses were destroyed, and 19 major highways across Nepal were damaged, further complicating rescue and recovery efforts.
Security forces remain mobilized to clear blocked roads and assist in ongoing relief missions.
