The clothes of Indian players are being criticized on social media.
Responding to criticism of the Indian contingent’s outfits at the Paris Olympics, fashion designer Tarun Tahliani has said he stands by the design and hit out at “armchair critics” who said they had made the athletes wear Charged for designing.

Many on social media criticized the designer for the Indian players’ outfits and called them lazy. In response to such criticism, the designer said that it would have been very easy for me to send them in zardozi vests but it is not appropriate.
Some social media users have pointed out that the outfits have digital prints and India, with its rich heritage of handloom and embroidery, should have been represented by this globally refined outfit.
The designer said that his team had only three weeks to prepare the costumes. “I couldn’t handloom 300 uniforms at that time. The shoes were brocade, brocade from Benares,” he said.
