Live Nation Entertainment, the parent company of Ticketmaster, revealed on Friday that it is investigating a data breach discovered on May 20. The incident adds to a recent spate of cyber attacks targeting large corporations.

According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, LiveNation detected “unauthorized activity” within a third-party cloud storage system that primarily contained Ticketmaster user data. The company is currently working with forensic investigators to understand the scope of the breach.

Last week, a little-known cybercrime group called Shiny Hunters said it had stolen the data of more than 500 million Ticketmaster customers, according to various media reports.

LiveNation did not mention Shiny Hunters in its SEC filing, Reuters reported.

The breach comes as the concert promoter is battling regulatory scrutiny over antitrust concerns. Live Nation was hit with the first wave of consumer antitrust lawsuits last week after the US government and states sued to break up the firm, arguing that the company illegally sold concert tickets. is raising prices and its Ticketmaster unit.

On May 27, “a criminal threat actor alleged to have the company’s customer data for sale via the dark web,” LiveNation’s filing said.

“We are working to mitigate the risk to our customers and the company, and we have notified and are cooperating with law enforcement,” the company said. “As appropriate, we are also notifying regulatory authorities and users of unauthorized access to personal information.”

The company said the breach has not had and is unlikely to have a material impact on Live Nation’s business or finances.

“We continue to assess the risks and our remediation efforts are ongoing,” LiveNation said.
