Toko, the infamous Japanese man who shelled out $14,000 for a super-realistic custom-made collie ensemble, is now opening his own zoo later this month. At the Tokotoku Zoo in Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo, visitors will try on a human-sized dog costume and live life as man’s best friend, the New York Post reports.
Tokotoko Zoo, which will open on January 26, is “a place where your desire to be an animal comes true,” according to its official website.
“Have you ever wanted to be an animal? Have you ever imagined yourself as something other than yourself and felt excited? We offer a service that helps make that wish come true. “Could, even if just a little, dress you up,” read the website, which was supposed to be a zoo “where you can become an animal!”
Guests will have the opportunity to dress up as a realistic and life-sized Alaskan Malamute, complete with a wiggly tail and mouth that opens and closes like a real animal.
Toko recently shared videos of herself playing with a man. Along with the video, he wrote that he wants to become an animal and is opening a zoo where people can fulfill similar dreams.
Those interested can book private experiences for 49,000 yen (about $311), according to the official website.
For now, it’s unclear who will run the zoo and whether the person plans to acquire other dog costumes in addition to the Alaskan Malamute suit.
But Toko has set certain size guidelines for visitors and only those who meet them will be allowed inside. To fit into a dog costume, the individual must be at least 4 feet 11 inches tall and no taller than 5 feet 11 inches. In one booking, up to three people can visit the zoo.
