In the backdrop of cash-for-job scams coming to light, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has assured strict legal action against all involved in such fraudulent schemes.

Addressing a press conference after the cabinet meeting today, Sawant said that the government is serious about the matter while appealing to the public not to fall prey to such tricks.

“A thorough investigation into the job scam is underway. No one will be let off the hook,” he said, reiterating that people, especially job aspirants, should be cautious and avoid the government recruitment process. One should avoid trusting anyone else.

The chief minister further said that several FIRs have been registered against the accused in different police stations.

“Some people are willing to pay for non-existent jobs but people should be vigilant and report such cases to the police/authorities,” he added.

The Chief Minister further assured that now all government posts will be filled through the transparent process of the Staff Selection Commission. He said that any vacancy in government departments will be advertised.

As part of the “Swayampurna Goa’s Vision for All” initiative, Sawant announced that around 30,000 students across Goa have undergone eye check-ups, with free spectacles provided to around 12,000 students. Additionally, 8 to 9 students underwent minor surgery.

“Trained teachers initially screen students at the taluka level before ophthalmologists do a thorough examination. Early intervention is essential and parents should be vigilant about their children’s eye health.

While wishing Diwali, Sawant also encouraged a celebration that respects others and supports a safe, pollution-free environment.
