Congress government has created more than 31,000 government jobs in just two years, MLA Sanjay Awasthi said here today. The present state government is committed to providing employment to the youth in the state. Sanjay Awasthi pointed out that only 20,000 jobs were offered in five years under the previous BJP government, while the current Congress government has crossed this number in just two years. Many job opportunities were delayed due to legal hurdles during the BJP rule, leaving the state’s youth disillusioned. On the contrary, the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu took immediate action to solve these problems thereby creating employment opportunities.

The state government has also launched the Rajiv Gandhi Swarajgarh Startup Yojana worth Rs.200,000. 680 crores to provide self-employment opportunities to the youth.

Awasthi accused the BJP leaders of misleading the public and advised them to focus on advocating the interests of Himachal with their leaders in Delhi. He highlighted that claims of Rs.10,000 crore related to disaster-affected areas are pending with the central government for one-and-a-half years. Additionally, about Rs 9,000 crore is yet to be released under NPS. He asked the BJP leaders to take up these issues in Delhi and work for the betterment of the people of Himachal Pradesh.
