Vanaparthy: State BJP leader Dhara Singh on Thursday demanded that the government provide jobs to those displaced by the Srisalem project under Section 98. Speaking during a meeting at the Jurala office of Pibir Municipality, he stressed the need to fulfill the promises made to the displaced.
Singh criticized the government for failing to provide jobs to people who lost their land, homes and villages to build the project. He pointed out that while many farmers sacrificed their lands and livelihood, the promise of government jobs was not fully realized.
Highlighting the plight of the displaced, Singh said efforts were being made to bring the matter to the Centre’s attention. He urged the government to use the central assistance to get employment for the displaced people affected by the project. Suresh, Rangaswamy Daguji, Govindu, Krishnaiah, Srinivasulu, Gopal Naidu and Khadar Yadav were present.
