SRINAGAR: In a major step towards improving access to modern medical care services in Jammu and Kashmir, the government on Friday installed PET scan and CBCT machines in all government hospitals and health institutions of the Department of Health and Medical Education except SKIMS. announced the official rates of charges.
As per the government order issued by the Department of Health and Medical Education, the rates per scan/test for whole body PET scan will be Rs. 10,000, PET scan for cardiac metabolism is Rs. 4000, for PET-guided biopsy is Rs. 1200, to review the PET scan from outside is Rs. 600 and CBCT machine charges are Rs. 1200.
This important step has been taken by the government to provide more affordable diagnostic services to patients, especially those who are economically disadvantaged.
