The 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) will begin on January 1, 2025 and will continue for a whole month. For the first time, tickets for the event will be available online. The fair will be held at the Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BBCFEC) in Porbachal, Dhaka. Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Secretary and Trade Fair Director Bibek Sarkar confirmed this information to the media. Highlights of the fair: The Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, will inaugurate the fair on January 1 at 10 am. This year’s theme highlights the sacrifices made during the July-August uprising, a special commemorative corner. Named after Shaheed Abu Saeed and Shaheed Mir Magadha. A youth pavilion will focus on engaging the younger generation, and a designated area for senior citizens will ensure comfortable seating for senior guests. FACILITIES FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS: Stalls will be allotted to women entrepreneurs at low cost, enabling them to sell products at affordable prices. Fair design and features: The entrance will showcase a theme inspired by the July-August popular uprising, while the fairgrounds will highlight EPB activities and various financial sectors. Online Ticketing System: For the first time, visitors can buy tickets online through an app, allowing entry by scanning a QR code on their phone. Tickets will still be available at physical counters, including BRTC bus counters. Ticket Price: Entrance fee unchanged Adults: 50 BDT Children: 25 BDT Transportation and Parking: A dedicated BRTC bus service will ply from Kuril Flyover to the fairgrounds from 8 AM to 10 PM daily. . Adequate parking facilities will be available to ease the inconvenience of visitors. Security measures: The fair will be guarded by police, RAB and army personnel, mobile courts are also operational. International Participation: Companies from countries like India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore are expected to participate, with a total of 350 stalls. According to Bebek Sarkar, preparations for the event are almost complete, with about 80% of the work completed. Notably, the 29th edition of the upcoming trade fair will feature 350 stalls and the participation of various organizations from India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore. For this year’s event, police, RAB, and members of the armed forces will be busy ensuring overall security. Apart from this, mobile courts will also be run. Additionally, there will be ample parking facilities at the center of the fair to ensure that visitors do not face any inconvenience.
