Indore: The crime branch of the Indore police on Saturday arrested a man who duped unemployed youth by promising them jobs in the Rural and Women and Child Development Department of Madhya Pradesh. The accused perpetrated a huge scam involving crores of rupees by targeting candidates with the lure of posts like project coordinator, computer operator, and community mobilizer.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused operated five bank accounts in different banks, out of which transactions of Rs 1.7 crore have been detected so far in two accounts. Efforts are on to collect details of remaining accounts.
The accused confessed to duping about 128 unemployed persons under the guise of getting them government jobs. To maintain his ruse, he conducted a mock training program for the victims at an HR resort in Kannada region.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that he along with colleagues also forged educational documents including PGDCA and computer diploma certificates to legitimize fake appointments.
The crime branch received a formal complaint from one of the victims, which led to the arrest.
The complainant reported fraud by the accused, identified as Anil Rasenia, 40, resident of Shalimar Palm, Bicholi Mardana, Indore.
On investigation, it was found that the accused not only issued Fake appointment letters But also repeatedly delayed in fulfilling the promises made to the victims. Anil Rasnia has a previous criminal record, a case of murder has been registered against him at Balwara Police Station in Khurgaon district.
Based on the evidence and his confession, a case was registered under various provisions of the BNS and further legal proceedings are underway.
