Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said illegal mining would be curbed after the formation of the Congress government as it has destroyed natural resources in Yemennagar and other districts of the state.

He said that the Congress government would allow only legal mining, it would not cause any loss of natural resources and would provide employment to people.

“Illegal mining has taken place on a large scale in Jumnanagar district, but our government will not allow this to happen,” Hooda said.

The former chief minister on Sunday addressed an election rally in Yamannagar, organized by Congress candidate from the assembly constituency, Raman Prakash Tyagi.

Several social organizations and political leaders supported Tyagi in Hooda’s presence.

Hooda added that in the last 10 years government jobs were sold during the BJP regime.

He further said that the Congress will fill two lakh permanent government posts on the basis of merit.

Hooda added that his government would provide legal guarantee of minimum support price of crops to the farmers.

He said that the procurement of paddy was started from September 15 during the Congress regime, but the BJP kept giving dates after dates to the farmers every time.

“The arrival of paddy in the grain markets has started from September 15. First, the BJP said procurement would start from September 15, then from September 23 and now, it is being said from October 1. After protests by farmers, the procurement was announced on September 27,” Hooda added.

He said that the Congress will ensure that crime, drug addiction, unemployment, inflation and dictatorship flee from Haryana and the state becomes number one in the country in terms of development and prosperity.
