The heads of the three Service Selection Commissions – Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), and Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) have been directed to fill up all vacant posts in administrative departments as soon as possible.
Presiding over a high-level meeting at the Lok Seva Bhavan, Majhi specifically directed that vacancies in essential services such as health, home, education and agriculture should be filled at the earliest so that these important departments can be run effectively and efficiently. can work
Moreover, the Chief Minister also directed all the departments to submit proposals for recruitment to the vacant posts in the respective commissions by March 31.
As per the reports, there are currently around 1,10,557 vacancies in various departments across the state. The state government has set a target of employing about 1.5L people in five years and filling up about 65,000 vacancies in the first two years.
Presiding over the high-level meeting, CM Mohan Majhi also directed the reconstitution of the Empowered Committee currently functioning in the Finance Department to oversee selection and reservation for recruitment of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
