ADMK Workers Rights Recovery Committee Coordinator and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneer Selam on Friday (November 22, 2024) urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to pay financial compensation to legal heirs on compassionate grounds. Referring to the death of Vivekanandan, a government doctor in Tiruvallur district four years ago, Mr. Panneerselvam, quoting the opinion of the Legal Cell of Government Doctors, said that the deceased doctor’s family, including his widow and two young children, , so far no financial compensation or government job has been given.

While the doctor’s father was still supporting the family, the widow, despite being an engineering graduate, was not recruited into government service.
