Demanding the Tamil Nadu government to immediately stop the outsourcing model of providing jobs to unemployed youth, Communist Party of India (Marxist) state general secretary K Balakrishnan said recruitment should be on a permanent basis.

Speaking to mediapersons in Dindigul on Friday, he said outsourcing was not only anti-labour, but would be unsafe for employees. This is not going to help the society in any way because the outsourcing agencies will be the real owners and not the government. When there were vacancies in many government departments and in schools, colleges and offices, the state should directly recruit the unemployed youth and give them permanent employee status. The CPI(M) strongly opposes the outsourcing process and hoped that Chief Minister MK Stalin would heed the request in the larger public interest.

CPI(M) leaders have slammed the police for not being effective in curbing the menace of drugs. Drugs were accessible to the youth and only strict enforcement and strict supervision would stop it and prevent the youth from falling into the dangerous habit.

On ‘one country, one election’, the BJP was planning to introduce a bill in Parliament in the coming session. It was nothing but a ploy to distract the public and the opposition. BJP does not have a majority in Parliament and thus the party will try all such methods. He said that the opposition is united and this proposal will be successfully defeated.

The Dindigul CPI(M) unit is organizing a two-day district level conference and Mr. Balakrishnan was here to inaugurate the conclave.
