The journey of IPS Tripathi Bhatt
Tripathi Bhatt, an IPS officer who hails from Almora, Uttarakhand, was brought up in a household that consisted mainly of educators. As the eldest of four siblings, she attended Beersheba Senior Secondary School in Almora and completed her 12th standard at Kendriya Vidyalaya. After graduating with an engineering degree from Pantnagar University, he started his career as an assistant manager at the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
Before clearing the UPSC exam, he made the bold choice to reject 16 job offers from various government agencies, including the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). An important event in her life happened when she was in class 9 and she got a chance to meet late President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. At the meeting, he gave her a handwritten letter that inspired her dedication to serving the country.
In his first attempt at the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2013, Tripathi secured 165th rank and opted for the IPS service. He was assigned to his home cadre and started his career as a Superintendent of Police (SP) in Dehradun. After that, he worked as SP in Chamoli and later took over as Commander of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) in Tehrigarhwal.
He is currently holding the post of SP for Intelligence and Security in Dehradun. Apart from her career achievements, Tripathi has also distinguished herself in athletics, winning gold medals in marathon and state-level badminton events. Skilled in taekwondo and karate, Tripathi Bhatt exemplifies her determination and perseverance in community service.
