Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress claimed that the fortunes of the youth in Telangana had taken a positive turn under its ‘praja palana’.

The reason is that in the first year the government fulfilled its promise by holding a job recruitment fair for the youth. A new record has been set in job placements, with more than 53,000 vacancies filled in the first year, unmatched by any other state in the country.

Soon after assuming office, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy initiated reforms in the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) as per the norms of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The government removed all the hurdles related to the pending examinations and results that had accumulated till then. Also, steps were taken as a result of which TGPSC relaxed the age limit for recruitment to save the youth from the disadvantage as there were no job vacancies for ten years.

An annual job calendar has been announced in Telangana which is a unique initiative in the country. This modern system allows continuous process of recruitment of government jobs as per the calendar.

During the previous BRS government, the District Selection Committee (DSC) filled 7,857 teacher vacancies in one go. However, the new government conducted mega DSC 2024 to fill 11,062 posts in just ten months. The exams were held in July and the results were announced on September 30 at a record pace. The Chief Minister presented the appointment papers to the selected candidates during Dussehra festival.

Moreover, the new government canceled the Group-I exam soon after taking over due to paper leakage issues. A new notification has been issued for 563 posts, and Group-I Prelims and Mains examinations have been successfully conducted. Group-3 exams were successfully held on November 17 and 18, and Group-2 exams are scheduled to be held on December 15 and 16.

The Chief Minister personally distributed appointment documents to 687 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) in the Irrigation Department and 96 Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors (AMVIs) in the Transport Department. The TGPSC also announced the final results of Group 4, which were pending under the previous government.

The government has released the appointment papers to 16067 candidates by clearing all the hurdles in the recruitment of constable posts through the Police Recruitment Board.

The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board has successfully completed the recruitment of 7,094 Staff Nurses out of which 6,956 have received employment appointment documents. Recently, 1,284 Lab Technician, 2,050 Nursing Officer (Staff Nurse), and 633 Pharmacist (Grade 2) posts were announced. Recruitment for a total of 5,378 posts is currently in various stages.
