Hyderabad: Jampula Gopal, a resident of Rukonda village in Narayanapet district, finally fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a government teacher at the age of 50 after losing thrice in 2008, 2012 and 2017. He secured the top rank in the Telugu language Pandit category. For Narayanpet district in the results declared on Monday.
Making the news sweeter was that his elder son Bhanu Prakash also bagged a teaching job in the same DSC exam in his very first attempt. Bhanu, who holds BSc and B.Ed degrees, is ranked 9th in the district in the School Assistant category of Mathematics.
Gopal’s wife Vijayalakshmi is also a government teacher, who got the job in her first attempt in 2003 DSC. His youngest son Chandrakant was selected as an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in the Rural Water Supply (RWS) Department in the recently declared TSPSC results.
All of them studied in government schools and colleges.
Gopal’s journey to success has not been easy. Belonging to a poor family, he took up the responsibility of supporting his family from his childhood. After completing his MA and B.Ed, he pursued his dream, which included working as a barber and later as a private tutor and educational volunteer. His persistence clearly paid off.
