The Jammu and Kashmir administration has approved a long-pending proposal to address the chronic staff shortage by creating 575 new lecturer posts in the School Education Department.

The initiative aims to provide significant employment opportunities for the youth of the region in line with the government’s efforts to improve education and tackle unemployment.

Sakina Itu, a prominent political figure, announced the decision via X (formerly Twitter), confirming that the move was in line with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s broader plan to boost job creation in Jammu and Kashmir. It is part of the initiative.

“We are fulfilling the promise of the Hon’ble Chief Minister to create jobs for the unemployed youth of J&K,” Ito emphasized on the important steps being taken to increase employment prospects for qualified candidates.

The newly created posts of Lecturer will soon be sent to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for advertisement and recruitment.

This massive recruitment drive is expected to rejuvenate the education sector, addressing long-standing vacancies while improving the quality of education in various academic disciplines in the region.
