Through the MNREGA programme, Uttar Pradesh under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is making great progress in providing jobs to the weaker sections. To promote a self-sufficient society, the Rural Development Department is providing jobs to women, labourers, the poor and the disabled (devyangjan).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is adamant that real development can only happen when the most vulnerable in society are given the tools they need to seize their rightful opportunities. MNREGA program was launched under his direction to help the poor to become self-reliant. This initiative contributes significantly to the creation of equal opportunities for all and the overall development of the state.

Thanks to the MGNREGA program, disabled people are guaranteed jobs that match their qualifications, skills and abilities. CM UG is unwavering in its commitment to ensure that this group of people have equal rights to live. Since 2017-18, more than 1.24 lakh disabled persons have been employed under this scheme, increasing their income and generating 44.64 lakh man-days.

The Rural Development Department claims that depending on the demand, the MGNREGA program provides 100 days of employment to needy workers. People with disabilities are assigned tasks that are appropriate to their skills and needs, guaranteeing dignity and inclusion. Apart from creating jobs, the project promotes equality and social justice, making Uttar Pradesh a more welcoming and empowered state.

During the financial year 2024-2025, significant progress has been made in providing employment opportunities to the disabled. Out of the 50,201 registered Deviant Job Card holders, 23,262 have found work under the MGNREGA programme, generating a staggering 8.28 lakh man-days.

This achievement is shown by comparing the data of previous years: 11,332 in 2017-18, 10,993 in 2018-19, 10,699 in 2019-20, 17,400 in 2019-20, 17,400 in 2017-2017. . 13,948 in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 22,630 in 2023-24. The number has steadily increased, reaching 23,262 so far this year.

Government has improved the transparency of MGNREGA scheme using digital technology. Today, a digital platform streamlines procedures such as job distribution, job card distribution, and registration, guaranteeing prompt and efficient service delivery.
Devyangjans are given assignments that suit their physical abilities so that they can work comfortably. The program ensures their livelihood as well as the ability to live with dignity and respect in the society.

All the needy, including Devyangjan, now depend on the MGNREGA scheme in Uttar Pradesh to generate employment. Under the inspiring direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the program is contributing to the development of self-reliance in all sectors of society.
