Netizens shared the fake AI-generated video streamed live from YouTube on their social media handles. Apple has yet to comment on the matter.

“Apple’s official US YouTube channel has been hacked! A fake AI-generated video of Tim Cook is currently streaming, asking viewers for Bitcoin,” an X user under the username MysteryDealz wrote. wrote

Another user shared a fake video that was being streamed live from YouTube.

One user mocked Apple CEO Tim Cook and wrote, “Tim cooked us!”.

“Is it me or has Apple’s YouTube channel been hacked with a crypto scam?” X User Zaheer wrote.

iPhone 16 unveiled

Apple on Monday announced an iPhone 16 built for artificial intelligence as it looks to boost sales and show it’s ahead in the technology race.

The tech giant has a lot riding on what the iPhone 16 will be and will be hoping that consumers will be willing to buy the latest models, attracted by the new AI powers.

“We’re very excited to introduce the first iPhones designed from the ground up for Apple Intelligence and its breakthrough capabilities,” Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook said at an event at the iPhone maker’s Silicon Valley headquarters. Happy.”

With sales of $39 billion last quarter, the iPhone accounts for about 60 percent of Apple’s revenue, and remains the main gateway to the company’s services, such as the App Store or Apple TV, which are becoming a growing part of its business.

Apple is just coming out of a long sales slump as consumers increasingly stick with older models for longer.
