The Union said on Saturday that Costco and the Tamusters Union had reached a temporary deal on a new deal, avoiding the strike.

Tamusters spokesman Matthew McCaid confirmed the deal, which would have to be approved by members. The details of the contract were not available immediately. The Associated Press left a message to comment with Costco.

The Tamster Union represents 18,000 Costco workers in six states: California, Washington, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and New York. Overall, Costco has 219,000 US employees and 617 US stores. The company said its labor contract with teams applies less than 10 % of these stores.

On January 20, team members in Costco voted in favor of the strike if the current deal expired, no new three -year agreement was signed until midnight on Friday.

Union members wanted Skyah, Washington, a company offering a contract that reflects its sales and profits. In its recent fiscal year, Costco’s revenue increased by 5 % to $ 254 billion in its recent fiscal year, ending September 1.

“The Costco Tamusters deserves the industry’s leading agreement that reflects the company’s major profits. If Costo believes they can exploit our members during the billions of rise, we will close them,” the General of the Temusters. President Sean O’Brien said in a statement.
