Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman today presented the Union Education Budget 2025 on February 1. During his eighth budget, he announced that a Center of Excellence for Education in AI would be set up with Rs 500 crore. In the union budget of 2023, it announced the best centers of three centers in agriculture, health and sustainable cities.

In addition, this year IITs will be increased. Additional infrastructure will be formed in five IITs, which were started after 2014 to facilitate the education of 6500 more students. The FM also said that hostel and infrastructure facilities will also be enhanced in IIT Patna.

“The capacity of IITs will be extended. In the last 10 years, the total number of students in 23 IITs has increased by 100 %, which has increased from 65,000 to 1.35 million. He added that a National Institute of Food Technology and Administration will be established in Bihar to increase the income of the farmers and provide employment for the youth. In addition, with the increase in the number of seats, medical education will be a huge focus this year.

In 2024, the FM announced that the center would allocate Rs 1.48 lakh crore in education, employment and development development.
