Grok, xAI’s native artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, is now available as a standalone iOS app. According to reports, the AI firm run by Elon Musk has been testing the app in beta for about a month. The standalone app comes with all the features available on the web version of the chatbot. Users can create photos and ask web search-based questions even when they’re not signed in to their X (formerly known as Twitter) account. Notably, while the company has mentioned the launch of the app in the US, it is also working in India.

The official handle of xAI announced the launch of Grok’s iOS app in one. Post The post states that users do not need to log into the app to access its features. However, signing in to an X account may personalize the user’s experience when using the AI Chatbot Service.
The post, as well as the app’s listing on the App Store, states that Grok’s iOS app has launched in the US. However, Gadgets 360 staff members were able to download and use the chatbot in India as well.
After installing the app, users are taken to a new chat window, where they can start a conversation with the chatbot. Grok’s iOS app can interact with the user, create images, search the web and X to find real-time information, and compose articles and emails. None of these features require the user to sign in to the app, which is not possible on the web version of the chatbot.
Interestingly, the iOS app allows users to sign in to Grok with their X account or Apple account. However, an X account allows users to connect their chats to the web client and offer a more personalized experience. In our brief testing of the iOS app, we didn’t find any lag issues or any bugs or glitches.
gave App list Highlights that the iOS app is powered by the Grok 2 AI model, the same major language model that also powers both the free and premium versions on the web. Specifically, we weren’t able to find Fun Mode, but it may be available for X Premium and X Premium+ subscribers.
