What you need to know.
- A strange YouTube music bug shows users’ November top listening badges twice.
- It’s almost time for December’s top listening badges to be released, so this bug will likely be fixed when the real December badges come out.
- Top Listeners badges are a collectible and shareable way to show the artists you listen to the most.
In 2025, music streaming services will have to balance delivering high-quality audio and creating memorable experiences. Things like Spotify Wrapped or Apple Music Replay are shareable and engaging, and YouTube Music has a thing of its own with top listener badges. They are collectible badges awarded to those who listen to certain artists more than almost any other on the platform. However, YouTube Music subscribers are getting a weird bug that is causing them to watch double.
Top Listener badges for YouTube Music can be earned monthly, but users are seeing their November badges duplicated in the app. 9to5Google was the first to spot this little bug, which replaced the December badges that were expected to ship this week.
YouTube Music badges show what percentage of the top audience you’re in for a particular artist. To find them, you can tap and hold your profile picture. Badges tab will open a page that shows all the badges you’ve earned. Chances are, you’ll see duplicate old badges instead of the new December badge thanks to this weird bug.
Similar to features like Spotify Wrapped or YouTube Music Recap, the Monthly Top Listeners badges are shareable. You can create and select a photo card by tapping the three-dot menu on the badge. Share it.then Save the image..
As 9to5Google notes, this issue may be fixed when the original Top Listener badges are sent to users for the month of December. YouTube Music shipped the November badges on December 2, 2024, so the official December badges should be released soon.
