Microsoft Windows Users worldwide are facing blue screen of death errors. Many users took to microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to report the issue. Windows users are seeing blue screen errors on their screen where the laptop/PC is stuck on restart loop.
The outage has affected the operations of many airlines, banks, broadcasting and emergency services around the world. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue on its service status page.
US-based security company CrowdStrike also said in a post on Reddit that the outage was the result of an ‘erroneous update’ which has now been rolled back. “We have had widespread reports of BSODs on Windows hosts, occurring on multiple sensor versions.” “(We) have identified content deployments related to this issue and reverted those changes,” he said in the post.
So it’s unclear whether the outage is related to a CrowdStrike issue or a Microsoft issue.

Microsoft Shutdown: Impact in India

The disruption in Microsoft services has affected industries around the world, including airlines, banks and others. Indian airlines including SpiceJet, Akasa Airlines and Air India Express. The Microsoft Cloud outage has resulted in flight cancellations and delays.

IT Minister Ashwini Vishnu has reacted to the global shutdown. “MEITY is in contact with Microsoft and its partners regarding the global outage. Reportedly, this issue is occurring after installing the CrowdStrike update. For those unfamiliar, CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity company that offers a cloud-based platform for security.
