Nvidia’s Jensen Huang promoted the use of nuclear power as, in some parts of the world, electricity generation is insufficient to support the construction of new data centers.
Nvidia Corp. Jensen Huang, chief executive officer of the Co., Ltd., who helped create the technology at the heart of the explosion in artificial intelligence computing, said nuclear power is a good option for the renewable energy needed by the growing number of data centers.
“Nuclear is amazing as one of the energy sources, one of the sustainable energy sources,” Huang said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on Friday. “It won’t be just one. We will need energy from all sources and balance energy availability and cost as well as sustainability over time.”

In some parts of the world, electricity generation is already insufficient to build new data centers. This is a growing problem as the world’s largest companies pour hundreds of billions of dollars into new infrastructure that they believe is the future of computing.
It’s this essence that is being traded in the space of new “AI factories,” as Huang refers to them. Some data centers cannot be filled to capacity, and others are being built far from population centers.
Nvidia’s leader has argued that his company’s products, while more power-hungry than their predecessors — the latest generation chips require more than a kilowatt — are more efficient because they use AI software. can train and operate more quickly and replace many old components.

Separately, Huang said he is doing his best to serve customers in China and stay within the requirements of the U.S. government’s restrictions on Nvidia’s exports to the country.
He said that first of all we have to comply with whatever policies and regulations are being implemented. “And, in the meantime, let’s do our best to compete in the markets we serve. We have a lot of customers out there who depend on us and we’ll do our best to help them.
