- The app will be available for the first time in “all countries” and on the Google Play Store.
- Some features are getting a boost, like HomeUp, which can now be used with One UI Home without activating the app.
Goodlock, the popular first-party Samsung launcher for fans, is getting a redesign and expansion with One UI 7. In a post on the Samsung Community Forum, the feature manager detailed the changes to GoodLock that will arrive with the release of One UI 7. Samsung is trying to get the upgraded GoodLock launcher ready for release with regular One UI updates, but some features may take longer to release.
In particular, Samsung is making Good Lock more widely available. Exclusive to the Galaxy Store first, the app will be available for download from the Google Play Store starting with One UI 7. For the first time, the post states that Good Lock “can be used in all countries.”
Good Luck is a popular choice for users of Samsung foldables. Notably, the first-party launcher is the only official way to use any app on the Galaxy Z Flip smartphones’ home screen. This year’s revision of GoodLock will include some major changes that will improve the UI of the launcher not only for foldables but also for regular Samsung phones.
“The overall structure of the main app has been changed to facilitate the UI,” the post explains. Samsung has added improved search and filtering functionality, easier widget management, and GoodLock functions as a few of the things that will debut with One UI 7.
There is great news for Home Up fans. The post calls HomeUp “one of the most changed apps” this year, and it starts with allowing users to use HomeUp on One UI Home without running the HomeUp app.
Additionally, users will be able to place icons anywhere on the home screen without following a strict grid. Other changes include gesture animation customization, folder customization, edge panel customization, and taskbar customization. It was previously rumored after a leak dated October 2024.
Finally, the post reminds Goodluck fans that features that are well-received by fans may become standard One UI features in the future.
“Please use the Goodluck apps that show big and small changes and give us your feedback so we can continue to develop them based on them,” the post explains. “Features that receive good responses are continually being absorbed into One UI features, so please continue to give us feedback in the future.”
While One UI 7 beta is already available for the Galaxy S24 series, the updated Good Lock app is still at least a few weeks away.
