Stock Market Live Updates on Lok Sabha Election Results Day, June 04: Indian equity markets remained subdued on Tuesday, as investors gauged early trends ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The S&PSE Sensex was down nearly 3,500 points at 79,995, while the Nifty was below 22,200.

Among the broader markets, BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices fell as much as 6 percent. Among sectors, Nifty PSU Bank fell over 13 percent, followed by Nifty Metal Index (down 9 percent).

As of 11:30 am, the Narendra Modi-led BJP was leading in 237 seats, and the Congress was seen with 98 seats, according to the Election Commission of India.
