The National Stock Exchange (NSE) said that derivative contracts in these securities crossed 95 percent of the market-wide position limit and were placed under the stock exchange’s restriction period.

“All clients/members shall trade in derivative contracts of the said security to reduce their positions through offsetting positions. Any increase in open positions shall attract appropriate penal and disciplinary action,” the NSE statement said. Is.

No new positions are allowed when stock exchanges enter into F&O contracts in a particular stock during the restriction period.

On July 10, equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty succumbed to heavy selling pressure and sank below record highs.

The 30-share BSE Sensex opened at a fresh high of 80,481.36, up 129.72 points. However, the index soon fell 915.88 points or 1.13 percent to trade at 79,435.76. It finally closed down 426.87 points or 0.53 percent at 79,924.77.

The NSE Nifty also hit a record high of 24,461.05 in early trade but pared all gains to fall 291.4 points, or 1.19 per cent, at 24,141.80 intraday. It closed down 108.75 points, or 0.45 percent, at 24,324.45.

In the broader market, the BSE small-cap gauge fell 0.69 percent, while the mid-cap index shed 0.19 percent.
