The FBI says it is investigating allegations that sensitive documents from Donald Trump’s campaign were stolen in a cyber intrusion just days after Iran announced it had been hacked.
The FBI released a brief statement Monday that read, “We can confirm that the FBI is investigating this matter.”
The campaign did not provide any concrete evidence of Iranian involvement. But the claim comes shortly after Microsoft released a report about attempts by foreign agents to interfere in the 2024 US campaign.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations denied involvement when asked about the Trump campaign’s claim.
