PlayStation Network services are disabled on all platforms, preventing players from accessing PSN features, the PlayStation Store and many games. Affected users cannot sign in to their PSN account or go online. PlayStation Plus services are also down. Sony confirmed that some PlayStation Network services are experiencing issues. The outage affects users on PS5, PS4, PS3, PS Vita and users trying to connect to PSN services on the web and other platforms.
PSN goes offline.
Sony’s PSN Service Status page confirmed the outage Tuesday, at 6:51 a.m. Account management, gaming and social, and PlayStation Store services were affected. “You may have problems launching games, apps or network features. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” the page explained.
Update: The PlayStation Network is now back online, with the PSN Service Status page confirming that services are up and running. Players should now be able to access their PSN account, gaming and social features, and the PlayStation Store.
Gadgets 360 was able to confirm that the PlayStation Network is back online with various online services running on the PS5. PlayStation users in various regions should be able to access PSN services again soon. The outage, which was confirmed early Tuesday, continued for several hours, limiting access to network services. However, Sony is yet to confirm the reason for the global outage.
Gadgets360 can confirm that the PSN network outage is affecting users in India as well. At the time of writing, PlayStation Store and PSN accounts are inaccessible. On PS5, launching PlayStation Store gives the message: “Could not load. Something went wrong, please try again later.”
Several games get stuck on the opening screen on launch and checking the PlayStation Network status in Settings opens the same web page confirming network issues. The PSN account also remains offline, and PS Plus services do not start.
While multiplayer games are closed, some offline games can be started. Single-player games that require a PSN connection, however, are also inaccessible.
It’s unclear what caused the PlayStation Network to go down globally. Sony is working to bring its services online, but it’s unclear how long it will take to fix the issues. We will update the story with further developments.
