This is the second full budget of Modi 3.0 government, which returned to the center in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Budget 2025 cheaper and expensive list: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharman presented her eighth consecutive central budget for the fiscal year 2025-2026. These are the things that have become cheap and expensive for consumers.

This is the second full budget of Modi 3.0 government, which returned to the center in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This year’s budget is focused on 10 wide areas, starting with agriculture, manufacturing, employment, MSME, promoting rural areas, innovation.

“The purpose of this budget is to work on change of change,” Sitharaman said in his budget speech.

Items that became cheap

  • The government proposed to be exempt from basic customs duty on 37 more medicines.
  • Maximum 36 drugs for cancer, rare diseases will also be exempted from basic customs duty.
  • The Center has proposed to completely exempt the cobalt product, LED, zinc, lithium -ion battery scrap and 12 major minerals from basic customs duty.
  • Basic customs duty has been exempted on raw materials for manufacturing ships for another 10 years.
  • The basic customs duty will be reduced from 30 % to 5 % on the fish’s pastory.
  • The Center also announced a scheme to further promote handicraft exports.
  • The government will completely exempt wet blue leather from basic customs duty.

The goods that became expensive

  • The government proposed to increase basic customs duty from 10 % to 20 % on the interactive flat panel display. The Finance Minister said that the purpose is to reform the Ultimate Duty structure.

In addition, the Finance Minister proposed a one -time limit for a temporary diagnosis in two years.

During last year’s central budget, the Finance Minister announced the steps, which resulted in the decline in mobile phones, gold, silver and copper prices.

Three cancer treatment medicines were also exempt from basic customs duty.

The central government, in 2024, proposed to increase customs duty on non -biodegradable plastics. The basic customs duty on specific telecom goods also increased from 10 % to 15 %.
