A Bronx woman reported the sexual assault to police. She said that she woke up around 4:30 am on Saturday to find an unknown person in her apartment. The man allegedly entered the apartment through a window at his Wakefield residence at East 230th Street and White Plains Road. After the attack, the accused escaped through the same window.

The New York Police Department released surveillance footage of a man walking on the sidewalk as part of the investigation. The attacker was wearing a white tank top and dark colored shorts. The New York Post Reported

The department further disclosed that the victim was taken to hospital.

“I hope that whoever did this, whoever is responsible for this, is actually caught and released because it’s not safe for us,” said Shannon Swaby. Pix11.

According to reports, it is generally a quiet neighborhood.

A longtime neighborhood resident said it’s changing and not for the better.

“Being a woman, I don’t want to hear it around this area; it’s crazy, so how did he get into her house?” resident Latifah told Pix11.

Police are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Earlier this year, an American woman claimed an Uber driver tricked her into believing she was his ride before taking her to a motel in Florida, where she “woke up naked” and Didn’t remember how she got there. According to a New York Post report, an investigation is underway to determine if the same driver assaulted other women.
