Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli, known for his glamorous designs and animal prints, has died, his company announced in a social media post on Friday.
Cavali was 83 years old.
“It is with great sadness that today we say a final goodbye to our founder Roberto Cavalli,” the Instagram post said.
“From humble beginnings in Florence, Roberto managed to become a globally recognized name loved and respected by all. Naturally talented and creative, Roberto believed that everyone had the artist within them. May seek and nurture. Roberto Cavalli’s legacy will live on through his creativity, his love. of nature and his family whom he cherished,” it read.
In comments on the post, Roberto Cavalli Creative Director Fausto Puglisi and Roberto Cavalli CEO Sergio Azzullari from October 2020 expressed their thoughts on Cavalli’s passing.

“Dear Roberto, you may not be here physically but I know I will always feel your spirit with me. Carrying on your legacy and creating for this brand is my career. The biggest honor. Style,” Puglisi said.
He added: “Rest in peace you will be missed and loved by so many that your name will live on, a beacon to others and especially to me.”
Azzulari said the company “expresses its condolences to the family of Mr. Cavali.”
“His legacy continues to be a source of inspiration,” Azzulari said.
