After Hollywood actor and Democratic donor George Clooney called for Joe Biden’s high-stakes exit Presidential raceA Politico report now claims that former President Barack Obama Clooney was already aware of the NYT article but that didn’t stop him. Clooney called Obama in advance to warn him that he was going to write a scathing New York Times op-ed about Biden, the report said.

Obama neither encouraged nor tried to stop them, Politico reported, citing sources. Obama’s team has not commented on the latest explosive claim.

In his stinging piece for the NYT, Clooney wrote that Joe Biden was a big fu***** deal in 2010 but the Biden he met at a fundraiser three weeks ago was not the same person. He wasn’t even the 2020 Biden. “It’s devastating to say, but the Joe Biden I was with at the fundraiser three weeks ago was not the Joe Biden of 2010. He wasn’t. Not even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the guy we all talked about. I observed.”

Clooney’s $28 million fundraiser
George Clooney hosted a $28 million fundraiser for Biden in Hollywood last month, the largest ever for a Democratic candidate. Biden’s campaign planned the fundraiser around Clooney’s schedule, and it required Biden to travel from the G7 in Italy to California and a brief stint back to Washington.

It was the jet lag that Biden’s team later blamed for their dismal performance in the debate.

The Biden campaign wanted to block Clooney’s NYT piece.
The Biden campaign learned Tuesday that Clooney was preparing his opinion. Campaign aides launched a full-court press to convince the actor not to publish it. Jeffrey Katzenberg, the movie mogul who is co-chairman of the Biden campaign and his chief ambassador to Hollywood donors, tried to convince Clooney to stick with Biden.

What did George Clooney write?
Clooney gave his verdict in his article that with Biden entering the race, the Democrats are not going to win in November. “On top of that, we’re not going to win the House, and we’re going to lose the Senate. That’s not just my opinion; that’s the opinion of every senator and member of Congress and governor that I’ve talked to. Privately every one , regardless of what he’s saying publicly,” he wrote.

“I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. But a war What he can’t win is a war against time. None of us can.”

Jon Favreau, one of Obama’s former advisers, said Clooney was right and that everyone at the fundraiser was going through the same thing — except for the people working for Joe Biden.
