Israel has barred UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres from entering the country, calling him “uncivilized” because he failed to “unequivocally condemn” Iran’s massive missile attack on Israel.
“Anyone who cannot unequivocally condemn Iran’s heinous attack on Israel, as has been done by almost every country in the world, on Israeli soil,” said a social media post by Israel’s foreign ministry. It doesn’t deserve to be stepped on.”
The post also said Mr Guterres had yet to condemn the massacre and sexual atrocities committed by Hamas assassins on October 7. Neither has he declared Hamas as a terrorist organization.
“A Secretary General who backs the terrorists, rapists and murderers of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and now Iran, the mother of global terrorism, will be remembered as a blot on the history of the United Nations. Israel will continue to defend its citizens and maintain its national dignity with or without Antonio Guterres,” the post read.
Today I have announced the Secretary General of the United Nations. @antonioguterres An extraordinary figure in Israel and a ban on his entry into the country.
Anyone who cannot unequivocally condemn Iran’s heinous attack on Israel, as almost every country in the world has done, does not deserve to step up.
