New Delhi: Elon MuskThe owner of social media platform X criticized US Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday for misrepresenting former President Donald Trump’s stance on a national ban on abortion.

Harris posted on X, claiming that Trump, who is running against Joe Biden in the upcoming US presidential election, ‘will ban abortion nationwide.’ He added that he and Biden would “do everything we can to stop this and restore women’s reproductive freedom.”

His post was flagged by X’s Community Notes, a fact-checking feature that provides context to potentially misleading posts. “President Trump has repeatedly said he will not sign a national abortion ban,” the community note said.

Musk responded to Harris’ post, saying, “When will politicians, or at least the interns running their accounts, learn that lying on this platform no longer works?” Musk also included a screenshot of Harris’ post with a community note.

Further emphasizing his point, Musk commented at the bottom of his post, ‘Trump has clearly said he won’t do this’ during the US presidential debate with Biden last week.
