The BJP Odisha Legislature Party will hold a meeting on Tuesday to elect the CM.

Odisha’s BJP legislature party is scheduled to hold a meeting on Tuesday to elect a new chief minister of the state and the new government will be sworn in the next day, according to a senior party leader.

After senior Odisha MP Dharmendra Pradhan joined the Modi 3.0 government, the prospect of becoming the state’s next chief minister looks bleak. Now, the focus is on Brijrajnagar MLA-elect Suresh Pujari, who returned from New Delhi on Monday.

“The legislature party will meet on Tuesday and the new government will be sworn in on June 12,” said BJP’s Odisha in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar. “The newly appointed observers will interact with the legislators led by veteran leaders Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav,” PTI reported.

The TDP Legislature Party will meet on June 11 to elect Chandrababu Naidu as its leader.

Telugu Desam Party spokesperson announced that the party’s legislature meeting will be held on June 11 during which N Chandrababu Naidu will be elected as the leader. The meeting is expected to be held on Tuesday morning, Jyotishna Tirunagri said.

After the by-elections, representatives of the NDA, including TDP, BJP, and Janasena, plan to meet Governor S. Abdul Nazir to express their intention to form the government.

According to news agency PTI, Tirunagiri said the governor could invite government formation by Tuesday evening. Additionally, additional leaders may be sworn in along with Naidu on Wednesday.

Naidu is scheduled to take oath as the Chief Minister at 11:27 am at the Kesarapally IT Park near the Gunnavaram airport. Thirunagiri added that the list of leaders to be sworn in with Naidu could be finalized on Tuesday night.

The NDA won major victories in the recent Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the southern state.
