Maldivian President Mohammad Muzoo was seen sitting alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a banquet hosted by President Draupadi Murmu late on Sunday evening, as the two countries look forward to working together on their common interests.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the Prime Minister met all the invited foreign leaders at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The leaders congratulated him on taking oath as the Prime Minister of India for the historic third consecutive term.

Thanking him on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s commitment to its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and ‘Sagar Vision’.

In his third term, he also emphasized that India will continue to work for the peace, development and prosperity of the region in close partnership with other countries, even as it achieves its goal of a prosperous India by 2047. have achieved

In this context, the Prime Minister also emphasized on deeper people-to-people relations and communication in the region. He further said that India will continue to raise the voice of Global South in the world arena.

For the historic occasion, India invited some of South Asia’s top leaders—including Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina—in line with the NDA government’s ‘neighbourhood first’ policy.
